This is a picture of Sylvia Belle Edwards (1896-1992) and her husband, Benjamin Ignatius "Bennie" Higdon (1891-1985). They lived in Grayson County, Kentucky; they were the parents of ten children. Sylvia's parents were David Newton Edwards and Rilla (Higdon) Edwards. Sylvia's mother died when Sylvia was 3 years old (1899) and Sylvia's Aunt Rosa Belle (Edwards) Alvey and Benjamin Francis "Frank" Alvey took Sylvia into their home to rear.
