This is a picture of Martha Jane "Mattie" Edwards (1866-1897) on the left with her sister Mary Tabitha "Tobe" Edwards (born 1875 and died probably in the 1940s) and Tobe's husband, Charlie Meredith. The Edwards' sisters were the daughters of Nancy Josephine "Josie" Herrod (1843-1935) and William Asbury "Billy" Edwards (1839-1909). Martha Jane "Mattie" married Stephen Douglas Poston and had 7 children; she died when her younges daughter, Ollie May Poston, was 6 months old on January 7, 1897. Mattie lived most of her life in Hart County, Kentucky. After "Tobe" married, she lived most of her married life in the Madisonville area of Hopkins County, Kentucky.
